In 1998, McMullen studied the rate of vanishing of the Hausdorff dimension of the limit sets of certain degenerating families of Schottky groups. In 2024, Dang and Mehmeti used Berkovich spaces (in non-Archimedean settings) to obtain a vast generalization of McMullen's results.
In this talk, we shall discuss a joint work with Jialun Li, Wenyu Pan and Zhongkai Tao showing that some results by Weich, Borthwick, Pollitcott-Vytnova and Dang-Mehmeti can be significantly improved thanks to the analysis of Selberg and Ihara zeta functions.
