We have seen in the last decades an enormous effort from the experimental side to measure numerous physical observables and an equally important effort from the Theory community to provide phenomenological predictions for comparison. Lepton flavour universality is a key feature in the Standard Model. Currently, several measurements in b-hadron decays show some tension with respect to theoretical predictions. In this talk, I will summarize the experimental situation with special emphasis in measurements performed by LHCb with semileptonic b-hadron decays.

Gaspar Barreira foi um dos fundadores do LIP, Laboratório de Instrumentação e Física Experimental de Partículas, e ao LIP dedicou grande parte da sua imensa energia nos últimos 30 anos. Era o Delegado de Portugal ao Conselho do CERN e ao Conselho do SESAME. Antes e depois do 25 de Abril de 1974, empenhou-se como poucos na construção, de um país onde o Conhecimento, a Liberdade e a Racionalidade fossem determinantes. Em 2006, recebeu a Ordem do Infante D. Henrique pelo seu contributo para a internacionalização da investigação científica portuguesa.

The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) has published in 2019 the first ever image of an Event Horizon, from the very massive central black hole in the M87 galaxy. The team has chosen to publicize it 100 years after the first measurement of light deflection by a strong gravitacional field, which was a landmark for the Theory of Relativity in 1919. This new image did not require a technological revolution and neither did the images taken in 1919, however they all imprint the History of Physics.
