FASPDE16 - Workshop on Formal and Analytic solutions of Partial Differential Equations

The Workshop FASPDE16, to be held in Lisbon from August 31st to September 2nd 2016, will bring together experts in the field of Formal and Analytic Solutions of Partial Differential Equations, and will allow for a comparison of production in the different possible directions of research. The workshop will have a number of talks, whose goal is to stimulate further discussions.

Abstract: Kinetic theory is the field of mathematics that deals with systems of many objects. In recent years, this field has seen an awakening and renewed interest, and has been the focus of attention of many prominent mathematicians. In this talk we will discuss recent advances in the field, mainly in relation to the Boltzmann-Nordheim equation and Kac’s Model, and tie them to the fields of Nonlinear PDEs, Functional Inequalities and Applied Probability.
