Giving a colloquium talk is always hard and overwhelming: one is expected to be able to give a great talk about all of the amazing things that people do in one's area of research! But nowadays my area of research (model theory) as grown so much and has so many amazing applications (to Andre-Oort's conjecture, Grothendieck period conjecture, ) that, to be honest, this is completely out of my reach. So instead, I will give a talk in the sprit of a therapy session: I will talk about some of the many problems that trouble my mind! Although I will take the liberty of talking about some things that I still don't completely understand, I promise to make an effort to make the problems understandable (and hopefully in the end you will also have an image of what model theory is about).
