Abstract: Membrane trafficking is a vital intracellular transport system that ensures interorganelle communication. Dysregulation of this system leads to diseases affecting various organelles, cell types, organs, and systems. Defects in membrane trafficking are now recognized to be involved in cancer initiation and progression. Moreover, lysosome exocytosis has emerged as a pivotal mechanism driving cancer cell migration and invasion. This presentation will highlight how lysosome exocytosis can be harnessed to impair cancer cell migration and invasion, with a focus on triple negative breast cancer. Furthermore, strategies for therapeutically targeting lysosome exocytosis will be discussed, as modulating lysosome exocytosis represents a promising strategy to impair cancer progression.
