Critical and supercritical PDEs appear in a large variety of problems arising from very different areas ranging from physics to geometry passing through biology. Critical refers to a situation where the nonlinearity in the PDE satisfies a Sobolev embedding which is continuous but not compact. The main feature of this kind of equation is the fact that solutions can blow up. I will try to give a glimpse at the behavior of solutions to such equations.
