Students have academic examinations for the verbal defence, appreciation and public discussion of their final work (dissertation / project work / internship report within a Master's programme and thesis or similar works within a PhD programme) The degree of master or doctor is only awarded after this viva voce examination.
The admission process for these examinations starts at the request of the student through an application to FCUL Scientific Board. All needed documents must be presented and the information made available in the Postgraduate Studies Regulation (Despacho No. 8631/2020, from 08th of September; Declaração de Retificação No. 648/2020, from 25th of September) must be taken into account.
At the delivery of the final work, the following conditions must be met:
- Tuition fees fully paid;
- Approved registration of dissertation / project work / internship report within a Master's programme and thesis or similar works within a PhD programme;
- Approved applications (title or supervisor(s) alterations or writing of dissertation in English).
