Students take academic examinations for the defence, assessment and public discussion of their final work (dissertation/project work/internship report for Master's degrees and thesis or equivalent work for Doctorates). Only after passing this public examination are they awarded a Master's or Doctorate degree.
The admission process to exams begins at the student's request through an application to the Scientific Council of CIÊNCIAS. The student must gather the necessary documentation and take into account the information contained in the Postgraduate Studies Regulations, approved by Order No. 8631/2020, of 8 September, and amended by Declaration of Rectification No. 648/2020, of 25 September.
When submitting your final work, you must verify the following conditions:
Tuition fees have been paid in full;
Registration of dissertation/project work/internship report for Master's degrees and thesis or equivalent work for Doctorates approved;
Requests made (change of title, supervisor(s) or writing in English) approved.
