Abstract: We are concerned with the energy equality for weak solutions to Newtonian and non-Newtonian incompressible fluids, in a bounded three dimensional domain, under suitable boundary conditions. We are mainly interested on conditions which are sufficient to guarantee the energy equality. We start by an introduction to the subject, in particular by a description, and a discussion, on some previous results. Then we state and discuss our results, and show some main points in the proofs.
The results were obtained in collaboration with Jiaqi Yang (Beijing).
