The Pierre Auger Observatory operates the largest and more precise Ultra High Energy Cosmic Ray Observatory. The experiment has already established several fundamental results and is now implementing an upgrade to its detector: AugerPrime. Within this framework LIP is installing RPCs in the field, the MARTA project, to directly measure the muonic component of Extensive Air Showers. These will contribute to the much needed increase in collected information to help understanding the shower development in the atmosphere and enable the primary characterisation.
