Smart Farm 4.0: a national project for the development of smart solutions in agriculture

The project “Smart Farm 4.0: soluções inteligentes para uma agricultura sustentável, preditiva e autónoma” results from a collaborative effort between 16 partners to leverage the transfer to the market of new solutions that aim to optimize the use of resources, sustainability and resilience of agricultural systems and their profitability and added value.

This project, co-financed by the FEEI, through the Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Programme and the Lisbon Regional Operational Programme, intends to contribute in a decisive way for the transition and democratization of a smart agriculture, more sustainable, predictive and autonomous, in order to maximize the added value of national products of horticulture, fruit growing and viticulture, with emphasis on the western region of Portugal. In practice these entities intend to design and develop innovative and accessible solutions based on industry 4.0 (internet of things - IoT, artificial intelligence, big data, cyber-physical systems, autonomous robots) for the application to the agricultural sector.

Led by Tomix and coordinated by Smart Farm Colab, the consortium includes universities, a State laboratory, technological innovation and development entities and agricultural production entities. The entities that make up this consortium are:
