The aim of this mini-symposium is to promote interactions among students, teachers and researchers. We will discuss current opportunities and challenges in Evolutionary and Developmental Biology research, focusing on the science that BED Master students are undertaking, acknowledging their career paths over the past decade.
We will have sessions of selected talks and posters from submitted abstracts by our students, and five invited talks from experts in the field, which are collaborators or past students from the BED Master:
Tiago Filipe Salgueiro de Jesus apresenta a tese "Responses of congeneric freshwater fish, Squalius carolitertii, and Squalius torgalensis, to future climate change".
Iolanda Lopes Domingues apresenta a tese "Cooperative and harmful behaviour in the bacterial world".

Ana Sofia Bartolomeu Rodrigues apresenta a tese "Evolutionary history of Philaenus spumarius (Hemiptera, Aphrophoridae) and the adaptive significance and genetic basis of its dorsal colour polymorphism".
Margarida Alexandra de Sousa Carvalho Tavares Duarte apresenta a tese "Unravelling mechanisms of reproductive isolation between two sister species of Iberian voles".
“Geography and major host evolutionary transitions shape the resource use of plant parasites” da autoria de Joaquín Calatayud, José Luis Hórreo, Jaime Madrigal-González, Alain Migeon, Miguel Á. Rodríguez, Sara Magalhães e Joaquín Horta salienta a necessidade de estudos mais globais em Ecologia.
