Scientific Interests
My research focuses on the development of AFM/FFM and related experimental protocols to make measurements that are otherwise challenging and in general, to continue bringing new ideas to the development and enhancement of AFM and similar technologies.
I use AFM and related instrumentation to study nanotribology, nanofluidics, cell and soft matter mechanics, protein-protein interactions, and for surface characterization.
My most recent project has emphasis on the interplay between live cell mechanical properties and different stress conditions to improve our knowledge about the mechanisms by which organisms activate adaptive responses.
