Currículo Resumido

Dr. Catarina Frazão Santos is an Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Lisbon (Department of Animal Biology, MARE/ARNET, Ciências ULisboa), Honorary Research Associate at the University of Oxford (School of Geography and the Environment), and European Research Council Awardee (ERC Starting Grant, PLAnT “Planning for sustainable ocean use in Antarctica under global change”). Her research focuses primarily on the challenges of developing sustainable ocean planning and governance under global environmental and social change. Her publications have appeared in Science and several Nature journals. She is founding Editor-in-Chief of the Nature npj Ocean Sustainability journal, and over the past few years has been actively supportting the European Commission, UNESCO and the World Bank as a senior consultant on MSP-related topics. She holds a PhD in Marine Sciences from the University of Lisbon (co-directed by Duke University) and has a background in marine biology and environmental management. (Photo: ©Ana Luísa Valdeira)
