Ana C Brito graduated in Environmental Biology in 2005 (16/20, Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, Portugal) and received a Ph.D. degree by the Edinburgh Napier University (UK) in 2010, under the supervision of Teresa Fernandes, Paul Tett and Alice Newton. From 2010 to 2013, she was a Post-doc fellow at MARE and University of Lisbon. She received two highly competitive grants: FCT Investigator Grant in 2014 and FCT CEEC Individual Grant in 2018. Ana C Brito lectures in FCUL since 2013 at the BSc and MSc level. Currently, she is Assistant Professor (permanent position) and is a member of the Coordination Commission of the Marine Science MSc Course in FCUL. She is or has supervised 13 MSc and 8 PhD Theses. She has published more than 70 scientific papers. Since 2017, Ana C Brito has participated in 21 (national and international) Projects, with coordination responsibilities in 11 of them, including the H2020 CERTO Project (www.certo-project.org) in which she was Work Package Leader. Currently, her research interests include Estuarine and Coastal Ecology, Phytoplankton Functional Types, Ecology of Phytoplankton Communities, Ocean Colour Remote Sensing and Climate change.
