1st PhD Student Meeting - Biology and Ecology of Global Changes

The ‘Biology and Ecology of Global Changes’ PhD programme is a postgraduate international programme involving the Universities of Aveiro and Lisbon, supported by the Foundation for Science and Technology and with the collaboration of CESAM - the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies.

The main objectives of the Programme are centred in global changes issues, including the understanding of the impact of global changes in living organisms and ecosystems, taking into account current scenarios and projections. Students are enrolled in five areas of specialization: Tropical Biology and Ecology, Marine Biology and Ecology, Ecology and Functional Biodiversity, Ecological and Evolutionary Genomics, Environmental Biology and Health.

The meeting will be held on the 25th of October in the Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon. This is the first meeting involving BEAG PhD students of both the University of Aveiro and the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Its main aim is to offer students an opportunity to present their work, to be involved in scientific discussions, to establish new research connections and to network and enjoy each other company.

O curso visa capacitar os formandos para a aplicação dos índices de qualidade ecológica utilizados na avaliação da qualidade ambiental em sistemas de transição, no âmbito da Diretiva Quadro da Água (DQA).

The conference aims to bring together key experts in the Medical Microwave Imaging (MMWI) field and will include invited talks, presentations and posters of peer-reviewed abstracts and conference papers, and workshops in satellite areas of research that are of interest to MMWI research.
