This is intended to be an introductory seminar for a wide audience, including students.
In the first two thirds of the seminar, I will introduce the theory of isomonodromy deformations of linear differential systems, which is a powerful tool in the area of integrable systems. I will motivate it by problems in analysis (Painleve' differential equations) and geometry (Dubrovin-Frobenius manifolds).
In the last third of the seminar, I will briefly sketch some main research results and problems in the above framework, which have been the object of my work, including collaborators here in Lisbon.
