The sauropod faunas of the Ibero-Armorican domain during the Campanian-Maastrichtian transition exhibits a high degree of morphological variability, which challenge us to assess the taxonomy of the different sauropod forms, especially with traditional methods. The large sample of sauropod isolated appendicular specimens allowed us to explore this morphological variation with a set of statistical and data visualization techniques thanks to the use of the Geometric Morphometric (GMM) Toolkit. My research is focused in the 3D digitizing techniques useful for paleontological heritage, and the GMM tools part of the emergent set of Virtual Paleontology methods. I will talk I use them to: a) quantify the shape variation within the sauropod appendicular skeleton, b) estimate the missing information and restore the incomplete specimens, and c) test grouping hypotheses relatable to differences between taxonomical units, ontogenetic development, morphofunctional and palaeoecological information.
