Juan Carlos Miñano has been involved in Optics research since 1982, initially in nonimaging optics (Solid State Lighting and Photovoltaics) and later also in imaging applications. Since 1997 he has been Professor at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Later he collaborated with LPI as a Senior Scientist. More recently he co-founded the company Limbak. In 2010 he was honored with the SPIE’s Conrady Award and in 2014 was honored with the Fraunhofer Award of the Optical Society of America.
