Vanessa F. Fonseca attained her PhD in Marine Biology in 2010, at FCUL. Her core research areas are marine and estuarine ecology, physiology and ecotoxicology applied to environmental quality and risk assessment, estuarine ecology, physiology and ecotoxicology applied to environmental quality and sustainability of marine resources, and currently focusing on seafood traceability, provenance and safety. She has participated in over 20 scientific projects since 2006, including 1 national project as Principal Investigator, 1 national project as a Co-PI, and 1 EU project (WISER) as a team member. VF has published 66 peer-reviewed contributions since 2006 (64 papers and 2 book chapters). Her h-index is 23 with over 1500 citations according to Scopus. She has over 50 communications in international scientific conferences. VF is also a member of the BIOTOXlab at FCUL, for RD and services in marine biomonitoring and ecotoxicology, which currently supports the activities of 15 postgraduate researchers and students. VF is an associate editor of marine pollution in Frontiers in Marine Science and F. Envir. Sci., and is a frequent reviewer (68 papers, 42 last 5years, Publons) for other SCI journals (24).
