Francisco Malta Romeiras is a research fellow at the Department for the History and Philosophy of Science, University of Lisbon. His research interests include science and religion, early modern science and medicine, and book censorship. He has published widely on Jesuit science and education and is the author of Jesuits and the Book of Nature: Science and Education in Modern Portugal (Leiden: Brill, 2019), A Biblioteca Erudita de Campolide: A história de uma biblioteca dispersa pela República (Cascais: Lucerna, 2022), and Os jesuítas em Portugal depois de Pombal. História ilustrada (Cascais: Lucerna, 2018). He held visiting positions at the Institute for Advanced Jesuit Studies, Boston College (2017), and at the Oxford Center for European History and Exeter College, University of Oxford (2019).
