Grapevine is one of the world’s most important crops, yet it remains vulnerable to numerous diseases. In this seminar, I will explore some strategies we are developing at the GPS Lab to understand and strengthen grapevine immunity. I will first highlight our fundamental molecular biology projects that map DNA methylation landscapes and unravel protease dynamics during grapevine–downy mildew interactions. Then, I will turn to our applied research, where grapevine cell cultures serve as a versatile biotechnological platform to expand and validate the fundamental results.
