Lisbon Webinar in Analysis and Differential Equations

Directional singular integrals in two and higher dimensions

Sala P3.10, Instituto Superior Técnico (com transmissão via Zoom)

Por Ioannis Parissis (University of the Basque Country).

In this talk I will give an overview of the theory of directional averages and singular integrals, firstly in dimension 2. We will see the main obstructions to the boundedness of these objects which will naturally lead us to the discussion of the connections with the Kakeya conjecture and the Stein and Zygmund conjectures. Finally, I will present a sharp estimate for directional singular integrals in codimension one, and general ambient dimension.

The Lisbon Webinar in Analysis in Differential Equations is a joint iniciative of CAMGSD, CMAFcIO and GFM, three research centers of the University of Lisbon. It is aimed at filling the absence of face-to-face seminars and wishes to be a meeting point of mathematicians working in the field.
