Established in 2003, T²M - The International Association for the History of Transport, Traffic, and Mobility, supports studies of the movement of people, goods, and ideas in all periods and societies in the past.
T2M is an association that gathers academics, scholars, researchers, decision-makers, policy-makers, and citizens to endorse a historically informed understanding of transport, traffic, and mobility, including the interactions between people, goods, ideas, infrastructures and systems, and sociocultural factors (public policy, labour, business, science, technology, tourism, media, arts, sustainability, mobility justice). In 2021, the 19th Annual Conference of T2M will happen from 3 to 5 November, under the main theme “Mobilities in Transition: Circulation, Appropriation, Globalization”, hosted by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and the NOVA School of Science and Technology.
The Conference is supported by CIUHCT - Interuniversity Centre for the History of Science and Technology, the Faculty of Sciences of University of Lisbon, NOVA School of Science and Technology, and ASIHF - Iberian Railway History Association. It is one of the official events of 2021 The European Year of Railway.
