How do plants sense temperature?

Transmissão através de Videoconferência

Por Philip A. Wigge (Leibniz-Institut für Gemüse- und Zierpflanzenbau).

Temperature is an important cue influencing plant growth and development. Temperature can be both a major stress as well as an important cue controlling seasonal growth and  development. Plants can sense differences as small as 1ºC, and the phenology of crops and wild-plants has already altered in response to climate change. In this talk I will discuss some of our recent findings in the search for temperature sensing mechanisms in plants.
