Bayesian Item Response Modeling

Short course on Bayesian Item Response Modeling

Anfiteatro da FFCUL, Edif. C1

This two-day short course will introduce the Bayesian methodology for modelling and analysing item response data, lecturing by Prof. Jean-Paul Fox, University of Twente, The Netherlands.
- Item Response Theory (IRT) is a paradigm for the design, analysis, and scoring of tests, questionnaires, and similar instruments measuring abilities, attitudes, or other variables. The important features of the Bayesian approach will be discussed; (1) the powerful simulation-based methods for estimating models and (2) the possibility of incorporating prior information into the analysis. Data examples will be given of basic and more complex item response theory models.
- This short course is aimed to statisticians, psychometricians, practitioners in Educational, Social and Biomedical Sciences, and other researchers who are interested in learning about item response modeling.
