CMS highlights at the end of LHC Run2

LIP, Lisboa

Por Nuno Leonardo (LIP).

The second data taking period (Run2) of the LHC has just ended, having delivered about 150/fb worth of pp collisions to ATLAS/CMS at the record energy of 13 TeV, as well as collisions involving heavy ions. An increase in the effective yields of relevant signals of about an order of magnitude and considerable jumps in sensitivity are attained relative to Run1. Despite only part of the available data having been analysed, significant results have been already extracted. Sensitivity projections for the upcoming runs have also been just concluded. I will present a selection of recent results obtained with CMS. Where we stand and where we’re headed to.
