The University of Lisbon and the University of Porto jointly organise a Doctoral Programme in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution (BIODIV) in the field of Biological Sciences.
The programme is run by the Faculties of Sciences of the Universities of Lisbon (CIÊNCIAS) and Porto (FCUP), with the collaboration of the Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes (CE3C/CIÊNCIAS), the Centre for Biodiversity and Genetic Resources (CIBIO/UP), the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology (IBMC) and the Institute of Molecular Pathology and Immunology of the University of Porto (IPATIMUP). These units carry out internationally renowned research in Biodiversity, Functional Ecology, Phylogenetics, Evolution, Behaviour, Theoretical Biology, Developmental Biology and Bioinformatics, among other areas, and have research laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment, as well as a Field Station associated with CE3C.
