The Academic Unit is responsible for the administrative management of students and teaching activities in CIÊNCIAS. It reports to the University of Lisbon and other official bodies.

Postgraduate Studies Area

Management of administrative procedures for post-graduate students (non-awarding degree courses, 2nd and 3rd cycles) and tenure and habilitation procedures.

The Postgraduate Studies Area comprises the Doctoral Office and the Master's Office.

Doctoral Office

Management of the technical-administrative procedures of the 3rd cycle courses and tenure and habilitation procedures.

Master's Office

Management of the technical-administrative procedures of the 2nd cycle courses and of the non-awarding degree courses.

Undergraduate Studies Area

Management of the technical-administrative procedures of the undergraduate students (1st cycle courses).

Teaching Organisation Office

Management of the information necessary for the functioning of teaching activities, as well as the production of timetables that ensure the efficient use of the Faculty spaces in the scope of those activities, or others, upon request, and that promote a rational management of the students' and professors' activities.

Academic Development and Training Office

Research, implementation and dissemination of innovative strategies that promote the improvement of teaching quality.

Student Support Centre

Integration and follow-up Faculty students, helping to solve problems that affect their learning or academic success. The Centre works together with the Ombudsman and the Education Board in the scope of their competences.
