Between 2011/12 and 2015/16, the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES) carried out the first regular cycle of assessment/accreditation of all study cycles that were in operation when the Agency began its work. Once this phase was completed, A3ES continued with the institutional evaluation process, as the natural conclusion of a complete cycle of evaluation/accreditation covering the institutional dimensions and the respective educational offer.
The self-evaluation report of ULisboa was submitted to A3ES in July 2017.
The External Evaluation Committee (CAE) visited ULisboa between 8 and 12 October 2018.
The result of this process was published on the A3ES website in January 2021: the University of Lisbon was accredited for a maximum period of 6 years.
In 2022, A3ES began a new institutional evaluation process, with the submission period for the self-assessment report extended until June 2023.
The External Evaluation Committee (CAE) visited ULisboa between 17 and 19 October 2023.
The result of this process was published on the new A3ES information system in September 2024: the University of Lisbon was accredited for a maximum period of 6 years.
