The Pavilion of Portugal will host the final of the 4th edition of the 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) ULisboa competition on 21 May 2026, at 5:00pm.
This year’s 12 finalists of the ULisboa 3MT will take to the stage with a challenge that seems simple… but it isn’t. They have just three minutes and a single slide to explain their research so clearly that anyone — even someone completely outside the field — can understand why their work matters.
The premise is simple: communicate Science. But communicate with clarity, confidence and, of course, plenty of good energy.
All participants will receive a certificate of merit and the top three places will win prizes of €5,000, €2,000 and €1,000.
This initiative is part of the Experiencet the Future programme, which marks one year of the Pavilion of Portugal as a hub connecting the University of Lisbon and society, bringing together science, culture and innovation through interactive experiences, talks and performances, reflecting ULisboa’s commitment to a sustainable and participatory future.
Admission is free!
