Statistics and Operations Research are essential areas of Applied Mathematics, used in a wide variety of branches of scientific and technological knowledge, as well as in engineering, economics, and management.

The offered Minor is very flexible in order to be accessible and interesting for students with different backgrounds and interests. Students can choose 30 ECTS credits from a very wide range of subjects. These include courses of a practical and instrumental nature such as data collection and analysis, formulation and resolution of planning and optimization problems, learning basic procedures with the appropriate software, small projects applying methodologies to concrete problems, etc. Students can also choose subjects where, without neglecting the importance of applications, the material is presented with greater depth and mathematical rigor.
