The Minor in Biology aims to provide a minimum, yet solid, generalist education in the scientific field of Biology. It is an excellent option for students whose interests are not restricted to a particular scientific area, for example, for students hesitant to enter a first-cycle degree in Biology or any other first-cycle degree in Ciências. It allows students to complement essential training in any of the first-cycle degrees in Ciências with a minimum training in Biology, completing a first-cycle degree in a pivotal area.

The student may then choose to pursue a second-cycle degree of an interdisciplinary nature, integrating these two scientific domains and thus consolidating a specialization consistent with their interests.
