Informatics
This Minor provides scientific training in the fundamentals of Informatics, offering diversified basic technological training in the main structural areas of Informatics. The area of Programming Science and Technology includes courses in programming and software development (Programming I, Programming II). The area of Information Systems includes courses in the design, modelling and development of information systems (Databases, Introduction to Web Technologies, Interaction with Computers). The area of Data and Intelligent Systems includes subjects in computer graphics (Fundamentals and Visualisation Techniques) and artificial intelligence (Intelligent Systems). The area of Computer Systems Organisation includes subjects related to operating systems, architecture and computer networks (Computer Architectures, Operating Systems, Computer Networks).
The multidisciplinary nature of the Minor in Informatics, taken by students with backgrounds in other scientific areas, provides a broad education at the first cycle level, opening up prospects for work and research in complementary fields and promoting the pursuit of advanced education through second cycles in the area of Informatics.
