Cognitive Science deals with the scientific study of cognition – brain, mind and behaviour – integrating and expanding concepts and contributions from various areas of Psychology, Neuroscience, Artificial Intelligence, Philosophy, Linguistics, Evolutionary Biology, Anthropology and other social sciences, through the application of methods from Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics.

The main objective of this Master's programme in Cognitive Science at the University of Lisbon is to train a new generation of graduates capable of combining different fields in an integrated way in the science of cognition, mind and brain, as well as taking advantage of the application of knowledge generated in this area.

By default, in non-auxiliary curricular units, the classes are presented in Portuguese. If there is at least one student who does not speak Portuguese, who speaks English and requests that the subject be presented in this language, the classes in these units will be presented in English.
