Doctorate
Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies
The need to find sustainable development strategies and provide effective responses to climate change issues, both in terms of mitigation and adaptation, has led leading universities to launch cross-cutting and multidisciplinary training initiatives, including natural and social sciences.
These initiatives are based on the growing demand for specialised technicians and researchers in the field of climate change and its interface with sustainable development, particularly with regard to energy, water, development inequalities and poverty, and food security.
The current evolution of these issues leads to the conclusion that demand in these areas in Portugal and the European Union will continue to grow.
