Applied Environmental Sustainability
This Master's Degree aims to offer a dynamic set of skills related to:
Fundamentals of sustainability science, including its historical background, main concepts, constraints and driving forces, as well as the operational significance of the water-food-energy-biodiversity nexus, including its application in rural and urban areas;
Understanding the phenomena, problems and challenges of environmental unsustainability for the regulation and allocation of resources in multidisciplinary systems associated with the conservation or recovery of natural capital;
Ability to design, innovate, optimise and operationalise sustainability initiatives for public or private management of natural resources, with a focus on the nexus sectors;
Use of methodologies and tools to define strategies and apply practices and techniques for sustainability in policies, systems and processes within the nexus, at local and global scales.
