International programmes

ERASMUS+

The ERASMUS+ Programme offers CIÊNCIAS students the opportunity to attend a period of study with full academic recognition at a higher education institution based in a European Union country, Turkey, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Macedonia. Under this scheme, students can study at an institution with which FCUL has established a Bilateral Erasmus Agreement for a minimum of 3 months (90 days) and a maximum of 12 months.

The ERASMUS+ Programme allows CIÊNCIAS students, regardless of their academic degree, to undertake a curricular or extracurricular internship at higher education institutions, public or private companies, research centres or institutes, non-profit organisations, NGOs or foundations, in a European Union country, Turkey, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Macedonia. In this modality, students can undertake internships with a minimum duration of 2 months (60 days) and a maximum of 12 months.

The ERASMUS+ Programme allows ciências graduates, up to one year after completing their academic degree, to undertake an internship at higher education institutions, public or private companies, research centres or institutes, non-profit organisations, NGOs or foundations, in a European Union country, Turkey, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Macedonia. In this modality, graduates who apply while still students and who complete their academic degree in the academic year of application can undertake internships with a minimum duration of 2 months (60 days) and a maximum of 12 months.

Bilateral Protocols

This consists of an exchange period of up to 12 months at foreign universities that have established a protocol with ULisboa or the Faculty of CIÊNCIAS. It is intended for students attending a 1st or 2nd cycle course.

IAESTE Internships

IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) is an international non-profit organisation founded in 1948, whose aim is to promote student mobility through paid internships, allowing them to develop skills in their field of study and gain professional experience, as well as broaden their intercultural skills.

To find out more about IAESTE and consult the internships available, students should visit the IAESTE International website.

If they wish to apply, students should select the Non Member Country system. If in doubt, they should contact IAESTE A.s.b.l directly at: outgoing.global@iaeste.org.

National programmes

Almeida Garrett

The Almeida Garrett Programme, created on the initiative of the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities (CRUP), aims to promote quality and strengthen the national dimension of higher education. It consists of a period of study mobility at another university in the country, with academic recognition at the home university. The Programme does not provide financial support for students interested in undertaking a period of mobility at national higher education institutions. It is intended for students attending a 1st Cycle course for mobility from the 2nd year onwards, provided they have passed at least 60 ECTS credits (the period of study at a partner institution will be only 1 semester) and students attending a 2nd Cycle course for mobility from the 2nd semester onwards (the period of study at a partner institution will have a maximum duration of one semester).
