The Faculty of Sciences has a set of service units that provide administrative, technical, and technological support for the activities that are part of its mission and objectives.

These service units include teams responsible for the computer network, various secretarial procedures and requirements, external relations, social services, and many other areas of activity.

Academic Unit

Ensures the administrative management of students and teaching activities in CIÊNCIAS. Reports to the University of Lisbon and other official bodies.

It comprises the Postgraduate Studies Area, the Undergraduate Studies Area, the Teaching Organisation Office, the Academic Development and Training Office and the Student Support Centre.

Communication and Image Unit

It comprises the Academic Marketing Area, the Science Communication Office, the Information Management Office, the Image and Digital Content Office and the Press Office.

Administrative Management Unit

Provides technical and administrative support to governing bodies and internal organisational structures at CIÊNCIAS. Interacts with external entities, both national and international. Ensures interaction between faculty members and their services.

It comprises the Studies, Planning and Quality Area, the External Relations Area, the Administrative Support Area and the Legal Office.

R&D Unit

Manages projects and supports scientific research activities. Promotes activities that enhance knowledge and other links to the business community. Disseminates relevant information and reports to the University of Lisbon and other official bodies.

It comprises the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Area, the Research Support Office and the Project Management Office.

Human Resources Unit

Ensure the administrative management of human resources in CIÊNCIAS. Support strategic decision-making, ensuring the dissemination of relevant information to the academic community and ensuring accurate reporting to official bodies, contributing to effective people management and the sustainable functioning of the institution.

It comprises the Academic Staff and Researchers Area and the Non-Academic Staff and Scholarship Holders Office.

IT Services Unit

This department is responsible for the architecture and evolution of the Faculty's existing IT systems, taking a proactive approach to the planning and development of new systems that contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of CIÊNCIAS activities.

It comprises the Services and Servers Area, the Networks and Communications Area, the Applications and Development Area and the User Support Office.

Technical Support Unit

Ensures excellent conditions for the CIÊNCIAS academic community through integrated management of people and property safety, promotion of health and sustainability, and preservation of the document collection. Ensures the efficient operation and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure, contributing to a safe, sustainable environment conducive to teaching, research and innovation.

It comprises the Library Area, the Laboratory Support Area, the Campus Area, the Safety, Health and Sustainability Office, the Psychological Support Office and the Document Management, Archives and Correspondence Office.

Financial Resources and Assets Unit

Ensures the efficient and rigorous management of CIÊNCIAS' financial, budgetary, asset, internal control, procurement and logistical support areas. Ensures compliance with reporting obligations to official bodies, contributing to sustainability and good institutional governance.

It comprises the Financial Area and the Assets and Purchases Area.

Internal Audit and Quality Office
