Currículo Resumido

I am a Full Professor at University of Lisbon (Portugal), a co-founder of Delox (www.delox.pt, a spin-off that develops automatic bio-decontamination systems), and a member of the Observatory SME Expert Group of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Previously, I had post-doctoral research at the University of Southern California (USA) between 1997-2001, and was a research fellow at Mount Allison (Canada), Linköping (Sweden) and Matsuyama (Japan) Universities. I have a PhD in Theoretical Biochemistry from the University of Lisbon with teaching experience in systems biology and biochemical regulation. Current interests lie in the (1) biomedical research of reactive oxygen species, (2) development of new materials to store and deliver hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide, (3) application of microcalorimetry to biomedical research, namely immunotherapy, and (4) social and economic valorization of knowledge.
