Scientific Interests

My current research is driven by two overarching objectives: i) unravel the origin and diversification of the flora from Portugal, using bryophytes as a model, with an integrative approach that combines phylogenomic methods, geological information, biogeographic dating and niche models; ii) Evaluate the impact of ongoing climate change for the future distribution of this group of plants and its implications for the implementation of an integrated management approach.
