7th IDPASC PhD School 2017

Particle and Astroparticle Physics in the modern Era

Asiago, Itália

IDPASC is an interdisciplinary doctorate network whose purpose is to create new high-level experts in the fields of Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology.

The school is dedicated to a modern approach to modern particle and astroparticle physics, which includes a balanced mix between theoretical and experimental aspects of modern physics, balanced between large morning lectures, and afternoon seminars. Four main fields will be treated: A/ high luminosity accelerators physics, B/ astroparticle physics C/ multi-messenger physics and D/ cosmology.

Few additional seminars are proposed to students about the daily life of a physicist, including an outreach seminar, as well as a guiding seminar to submit European grants (and win them!).

The students will have about 2 hours per day to study the topics of the school (tutorials), as well as they will take a final written exam on the topics of the school, which they can use at their will.

Some special events will be organised like an observation at the 1.22m Asiago telescope, and forest walk. Students will have space to present their activities to the other students and teachers.

Attendance is limited to 30 participants. Applications should be sent through the registration form on the School webpage before 31st of May 2017. A limited amount of grants covering part of the fee will be available for IDPASC students. To apply to such a grant, students must fill the registration form and send an application to idpasc.school.2017@lip.pt with a short CV and a letter of recommendation from their supervisors no later than 31st March 2017.
