Other Areas of Activity

In addition to the clinical field, GAPsi also intervenes in other areas and develops various activities that are relevant for FCUL. We highlight the following:


Implementation of the PAF project (Adapting to College Life Programme)

PAF is a mentoring project that aims to welcome and integrate new students at FCUL. PAF is currently being developed by the Geology Department, the IT department and international students in mobility programmes at FCUL (e.g. Socrates students). The Board of Directors at FCUL and GAPsi intend to extend the programme to all undergraduate areas of study in the near future.


Program “Learning with Success”

The program is addressed to students of the 1st cycle of studies in FCUL. Its aim is to promote the awareness of the factors that influence academic success and get effective strategies to accomplish that.


Ph.D. - Final Countdown Program

The main goal of the “Ph.D. - Final Countdown Program” is to help Ph.D. students who are struggling to finish their Ph.D..


Promote Lectures on themes related to psychological questions that are prone to affect students in higher education in general and those at FCUL in particular.


Hold Lectures and Workshops on themes related to the integration of recent graduates into the labour market. These training sessions work on aspects linked to Recruitment and Selection and Human Resource Management.


Collaboration with the Student Association, namely through the elaboration of informative and self-help texts that deal with relevant themes for FCUL students. We also establish specific collaborations on other matters.


Advisory Board Member for Students with Special Educational Needs. The Advisory Board focuses on developing initiatives that aim to improve the educational conditions and experience of students with special educational needs.


Implementation of the Volunteer Programme that centres on the work of students at FCUL by supporting classmates with special educational needs. 


Participation in BAES (Open Library of Higher Education) which aims to adapt bibliographic material to alternative formats that is then made available online to students with special educational needs. 


Participation in RESAPES (Network of Higher Education Support Services in Psychology), within the framework of collaboration and sharing experience with similar services at national institutions of higher education or at universities abroad. 


Collaboration with FCUL’s internal organisational structures at the level of Recruiting and Selecting new collaborators.


Collaboration with FCUL’s central enforcement authorities or other internal organisational structures with the aim of rendering support to GAPsi’s intervention areas.


Implementing applied research projects, aimed at the study of psychological and learning support related themes. The aim is to validate and optimize the services rendered by the intervention.


Educational Psychology: Aims to support and prevent in the following areas – development, learning, vocational counselling, interpersonal relationships, emotional and behavioural adaptation and health in an educational environment.
