The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is moving forward with teacher training between June and July.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (Ciências ULisboa) and the advanced training school comCiências are now accepting applications for the training course "Chemistry and Current Challenges – From the Laboratory to the Digital Environment". The course takes place between 18th June and 16th July and is primarily aimed at teachers of Chemistry. The registration deadline is 29th May.

"The training includes laboratory sessions and activities adaptable to the classroom, promoting practical and pedagogical skills aligned with essential learning. It is organized into an initial session, seven practical sessions, and a final evaluation session," says the institutional page of comCiências.

The course includes 25 hours of training in after-work hours. The training is provided by several professors from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

“This course, in the area of ​​Chemical Sciences and Technologies, deepens the teaching of Chemistry in the 12th grade, emphasizing its role in understanding the challenges of the modern world. With a theoretical-practical approach, it addresses topics such as sustainability, energy, health, and the use of digital tools and artificial intelligence in education,” says the comCiências page.
