The members elected to the new School Board will take office at 3.00 pm on Wednesday 13 May for a new four-year term. With this inauguration ceremony, the new representatives of professors, researchers, students, non-teaching staff, and external figures from the Faculty of Sciences at ULisboa will take up their posts. The inauguration ceremony will take place at the Rectory of the University of Lisbon.
The School Board is a collegiate body comprising 15 members; its role is to elect the Faculty Dean, as well as to exercise other powers relating to the running of various academic activities.
In the new term of office, which begins on Wednesday, nine representatives elected by researchers and teaching staff, two representatives elected by technical and administrative staff, one representative elected by students, and three individuals with no affiliation to the University of Lisbon will take up their posts.
The following will take up their posts as representatives of the teaching and research staff: Nuno Garcia dos Santos; Margarida Amaral; António Amorim; Cátia Pesquita; Fernando Ferreira; Rui Taborda; Patrícia Faísca; Teresa Alpuim; and Andreia Figueiredo.
Susana Gonçalves and Cláudio Fernandes will take up their posts as representatives of technical and administrative staff.
Salomé Melo begins her term of office after being elected as student representative. The three members with no affiliation to the University of Lisbon are chosen following a proposal put forward by the School Board – and their names are expected to be announced at a later date.
