EASS Scholarships

Established by Elísio Alexandre Soares dos Santos, the EASS Scholarship Programme was founded on the belief that education plays a decisive role in the country’s development and in promoting social justice and equal opportunities.

The EASS Scholarship Programme aimed to support students with high academic potential who, due to socio-economic hardship, lacked the means to fund their undergraduate studies.

Scholarships were awarded based on the socio-economic situation of the student’s household, the candidates’ academic performance and their area of residence.

The scholarships covered tuition fees and accommodation costs for students living outside the Lisbon metropolitan area. A monthly allowance was also provided to cover additional expenses, such as transport and study materials.
