Training5 May, 2026, 17:00 - 20:00

Integrated into the CIÊNCIAS Open Day 2026, the Science Communication for High School Students Task Force training is designed to prepare volunteer students who will support the promotion of this institutional event.

The course, led by Joana Bordalo, CIÊNCIAS alumna, co-founder and deputy director of Native Scientists Portugal and former Fulbright scholar, will equip the volunteers with communication, organisation and public support skills.

The Open Day, taking place on 6 May, is an initiative aimed mainly at secondary school pupils and teachers, providing an immersive experience in the scientific fields, courses and activities developed at the faculty. During the event, participants have the opportunity to explore laboratories, attend scientific demonstrations and interact with students, lecturers and researchers.

The Task Force plays an essential role in welcoming and accompanying visitors, ensuring an informative, accessible and engaging experience. Composed of students from different courses and years, this team supports orientation on campus, clarifies doubts and facilitates participation in the various scheduled activities.

This training is exclusive to Task Force volunteers and guests.
