Geolodía Transfronteiriço 2026 - Portugal/España - a high-profile public outreach event in the field of Geology, organised annually by the Geological Society of Spain. It attracts thousands of participants aged between 8 and 80 from across Spain and has been expanding internationally beyond its borders and into Latin America.
This year’s edition is dedicated to the theme “The geological evolution of the Douro Cliffs at Freixo de Espada à Cinta and Saucelle” and is organised in collaboration with the Geological Society of Portugal (through its specialist groups GGET and GRESBASE) and the Portuguese Association of Geologists.
This initiative is organised by geoscientists from various Spanish and Portuguese institutions, notably CIÊNCIAS and the Dom Luiz Institute, in particular by Ícaro Dias da Silva (Department of Earth and Sciences and Energy and Dom Luiz Institute).
Registration is free but compulsory, and places are limited to 25 participants.
