Technovation Girls is an internationally renowned programme that promotes the participation of girls aged 8 to 18 in STEM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths), through the development of technological solutions for real problems in their communities.
The Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon will host, on the upcoming 23rd of May, the national final event of Technovation Girls Portugal 2026.
Coordinated in Portugal by Happy Code, the programme promotes skills in the STEAM fields, encouraging young girls to explore programming, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, communication and critical thinking.
Throughout the 2025/26 season, hundreds of teams worked on the development of mobile applications and technological projects with social impact, accompanied by volunteer mentors from different professional backgrounds. This year, 108 projects were submitted, a number never before reached and a 40% increase compared to the previous year.
The final event will bring together hundreds of participants, including students, mentors, teachers, families, judges and institutional partners, providing an immersive experience of learning, innovation and sharing. The teams will present their technological solutions before a panel of judges composed of professionals and experts from the STEAM fields.
