We live in an age where attention spans are short and misinformation is rife. How can we communicate science in a way that is engaging, accurate and compelling? This workshop aims to encourage reflection on the role of science in society and equip participants with practical tools for clear and effective communication.
The session, organised by the Ciências in Harmony project, is aimed at the entire academic community of the University of Lisbon and will feature presentations, interactive sessions and practical activities.
Objectives:
Explore strategies and tools for communicating scientific concepts clearly, accurately and accessibly;
Develop basic scientific communication skills tailored to different audiences;
To encourage creativity in the presentation of scientific content;
To provide a space for experimentation and the sharing of ideas on different ways of communicating science.

About the speaker:
Gabriel Ferreira Guimarães - a science communicator with a degree in mathematics. He is dedicated to popularising science through videos and talks, and is known as MathPunk on social media, where he has over 250,000 followers across various platforms. He is the author of three books that aim to demystify mathematics and make it engaging.
