In Portugal, the recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions is regulated by Decree-Law No. 66/2018. This Decree-Law standardises the procedures for recognising foreign qualifications.
There are three types of recognition in Portugal:
Automatic Recognition;
Level Recognition;
Specific Recognition.
Those interested in obtaining recognition of a degree completed at a foreign higher education institution should consult all the information necessary to formalise their applications on the website of the Directorate-General for Higher Education.
